Counties council has asked its administration to develop a strategy to combat climate change across Leeds and Grenville.

Andy Brown, chief administrative officer, will form a committee with some of his counterparts in Leeds and Grenville townships to come up with a plan for “climate change adaptation and mitigation.”

“Over the past few years, the counties have been impacted by various climate changes, including flooding, more frequent and extreme storms, hotter summers, periods of drought and greater ultraviolet radiation exposure,” Brown said in a report to council. “These changes pose risks to the counties infrastructure, local economic and social conditions and public health.”
