Green Energy Doors Open happened all across on Ontario from Friday September 21st to Sunday the 23rd. Thank you to all the participants, hosts, partners and sponsors who made this year another success! Despite challenging weather events in some parts of the province, attendees still came out to discover and support renewable energy projects in their communities. Thanks to their dedication we are proving that renewable energy still matters in Ontario. Stay tuned for announcements and news on future events you can be a part of.

On Friday September 21st, OSEA also hosted a critically important symposium about sustainable energy in Ontario: Think Global – Act Local. Over fifty individuals, gathered in downtown Toronto at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre to hear about how OSEA is helping to guide the province into a greener future. The energy in the room was palpable as representatives for several organizations networked and heard from industry leaders.

Attendees heard from Ontario’s Environment Commissioner, Dr. Dianne Saxe who gave a powerful talk on her most recent Energy Conservation Report: Straight Talk About Electricity in Ontario, in which she examined the links between energy policy and climate change. Paul Acchione, President and Chair –Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, also gave a powerful presentation about Finding a home for Green Energy Investments. Paul is a former senior manager at Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation, and one of the leading experts on Ontario’s energy system. Both speakers brought passion and knowledge to their presentations and answered questions from the audience with thoughtful insight. Thank you to both speakers.
