WAL-Friendly-logoCanada Walks, a division of Green Communities Canada, has recognized three more communities for putting their best foot forward in 2015.

The City of Kitchener was awarded a Silver WALK Friendly Communities designation, the Town of Smiths Falls received Bronze, and the Town of Saugeen Shores receive honourable mention. All three have made progress toward improved walkability in their communities.

“The WALK Friendly Community designation encourages municipalities to take practical steps to make walking safe, convenient and enjoyable,” says program manager Kate Hall.
