Retirement homes

Welcome to The Wedgewood, Brockville’s newest and most elegant retirement resort, perfectly located in the downtown core and providing a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence River.

Retirement residences are being transformed. They are no longer places for people just to “retire.” Instead they are places where seniors can have fun, learn a new activity, make new friends, exercise the mind and body, and enjoy the company of others. This is the new standard of retirement resort living. The Wedgewood, built in 2007, offers this new transformed standard of retirement resort living in the heart of downtown Brockville.

The Transition Framework

Resilience is the ability of a system or community to withstand impacts from outside. An indicator is a good way of measuring that. Conventionally, the principal way of measuring a reducing carbon footprint is CO2 emissions. However, we firmly believe that cutting carbon while failing to build resilience is an insufficient response when you’re trying to address multiple shocks such as peak oil, climate change and the economic crisis together.
