Calling all young entrepreneurs: Program and funds available

LG Young EntrepreneursYoung people with a business idea can access support and seed funding with the Starter Company program offered through the Leeds and Grenville Small Business Centre.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity,” said William Thomson, who has launched TechTutors through the second intake of the program. “The mentorship puts you on the right path, keeping you from being a statistic. It gives you an edge.”

Part of Ontario’s Youth Job Strategy, the Starter Company provides training for six months with participants eligible for up to a $5,000 grant. In Leeds Grenville, seven new entrepreneurs have launched businesses and another 13 spots are open. The Next information session is May 20.
