Avocado ProjectBreak out the guacamole! The Avocado Project – a new retail co-operative that aims to make sustainable shopping a breeze – will be coming soon to the Waterloo region.

The co-op connects enthusiasts with products that are well-designed, easy to use and focused on sustainable living. Their ultimate goal is to accelerate the shift towards sustainable thinking, while helping their members enjoy the benefits of great products that contribute to a cleaner and more efficient world.

Product offerings currently focus on household goods like solar chargers, thermostats, Mason jar accessories and many others. Moreover, the process of product selection will be flexible over time and is partially open to their membership to decide which products they would like to see as the store grows. The membership will see other benefits as well including extended product returns and a vote at their annual meeting.

In its early stages, the co-op will operate as an online store which will play an important role in engaging the community. In the future, the owners see the project expanding into physical stores so that customers can experience the products first hand.
